Why Ghosts Wear Clothes

Warning, this is going to be my nerdiest entry.  It’s my birthday today, so I’m allowing my inner nerd to come out to play!

As a young 14 year old, just after getting ready to lie down and get to sleep, I looked  to check to see what time it was on my digital clock, and noticed by my bedroom door, the strangest thing. A man standing in the entryway of the open door. I was bewildered to say the very least, and terrified at the same time. Standing well over six-foot tall, a large grin on his face, and wore a nice suit and tie. A red and blue stripped tie to be exact, I could see through him, which could mean only two things: One — I had lost my mind or two — he’s a ghost. I did not like either idea. I quickly put my blanket over my head, and was scared to look again. I pretended to be asleep. I’m not exactly sure how long I was there, suffocating myself with my own blanket. I didn’t wish to stay where I was and be attacked by some figment of my imagination or some stranger from elsewhere (that had the audacity to spy on a young girl) either. So, I slowly peeked out from my covers, and as soon as I saw he was no longer lurking, I ran as fast as I could from my bedroom down the hallway, which had exactly five turns, and fourteen steps, to get from my room to the downstairs of the house. I was on a mission to find my dog. I quickly ran all over the main floor looking for her, but she was gone! I made two laps looking for my beloved mutt, nowhere. Ugh! So then it occurred to me, my dog had gone into the basement of the house, because she was scared too! I ran down to find her curled up in the corner of the basement, and grabbed hold like my life depended on it. Thank God for my dog.

If you’re wondering where my parents or siblings were at the time, I honestly can’t recall. I just know my dog was there for me, and I never told anyone about this night until adulthood. At that point almost everyone had seen the man in the suit. He’s even acquired the nickname, “Bill” due to his uncanny resemblance to a certain president. But the question always remained. Why could I see through him, and why do ghosts wear clothes?

Being the curious nerd that I am, I developed a theory. The latest theory in physics is that the world is  a hologram. This is the only one so far that has made any sense to me. If you look at a hologram, most of the time you can see right through it, unless you are in the world of the said hologram. The world as a hologram goes something like this: (please note I’m a psychic not a physicist!) A black hole absorbs everything, the biggest problem with this theory was that everything would include all information too, but just because you put a piece of paper into a shredder doesn’t mean the information is gone. So, added to the theory is that the information is stored in 2D on the event horizon. (The place right before all the matter is sucked into the black hole).  So to have a hologram; the original source that is projected onto a screen. By the way, it has been shown that matter is made up of waves or particles is dependent on an observer (look up the double slit experiment) So when you look at anything physical, it snaps into existence going from a wave to a particle. That basically means that all the atoms that make up my car are just waves of mush until I look at or observe my car, at which point my car is off it’s lunch break and becomes particles making up a car again. Weird huh!

Okay now the ghost part:  So if I’m in a hologram, and a person that is not a part of the same hologram I’m in were to use a projector to say, “Hello!”, in my world, they would appear as a hologram here. Get it? And since they are simply in another world projecting here, of course they are going to wear clothes. Duh, they still exist in their world. I guess there are creepy stalkers everywhere. Ugh.

Now tell me a black hole doesn’t look like a giant projector. Yes, I have no scientific data and Lord knows I can’t use most of the left side of my sorry-ass brain, but still. It really does! And really, does this mean we have to keep doing laundry? Please someone tell no…

So, if you have seen a ghosty, please share with me, were they see-through?  And if not, what year did you witness the ghost? I ask because I imagine science there gets better too! (oh dear).

Blessings!!!!
